International Prescriptions

We can dispense some prescriptions issued outside the UK, subject to UK regulatory requirements.

International prescriptions must:

  • ✔ Be written by a recognised medical practitioner

  • ✔ Be in English or accompanied by a professional translation

  • ✔ Clearly state medication, strength, dosage and prescriber details

  • ✔ Meet UK legal dispensing requirements, including:

    • ✔ Being from an origin within the EU or EEA

    • ✔ If from the EU or EEA, then it must also be either a paper, ink-signed original (not photocopy or photo) which meets the requirements laid out in UK law, or an electronic prescription which is on a traceable software which supports dispensing and recording of dispensing in the UK

Certain medicines - particularly controlled drugs - cannot usually be dispensed from international prescriptions.

Our pharmacists will assess each prescription individually to ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance.

  • In-stock items are usually dispensed the same day. Specialist medicines and medicines we don’t routinely stock may require ordering, which can vary from next-day to 5 working days delivery, depending on the medicine.
