Video Call Guide
You’ve booked your consultation for weight-loss medicine. What now?
During our video consultation, we’ll meet you, and chat about your current diet and lifestyle. We’ll also ask certain details about your medical history and any current medicines. This is to make sure the medicine is safe for you to take.
One important thing we’ll do is take your weight. For this, you will need a scale, as you agreed when you booked the appointment.
Setting up your camera in the right way is really important to make sure we can see you, so please follow the steps below before your call starts:
Complete the consultation on a mobile or moveable camera device, such as a phone, tablet or laptop.
We need you to do this so we can see your full body in the frame, and then for you to film the scales as you get on and off them. Make sure you can access the microphone and speaker OK - we do need to be able to see, hear and speak to you for this!
2. Have a scale to hand. If you have a tape measure and a friend to hand, bring them too!
We need the scale to determine your weight and BMI, and the tape measure can be handy for further measurements if we can get them (though this can be tricky on your own, so having a friend . Collecting measurements of your weight and BMI are crucial to your treatment - it allows us to verify you meet the criteria for treatment, and to measure your progress.
3. Find a place to have your consultation.
It should be a quiet, medium sized area (we need to see your whole body in the frame for one part of the consultation). It may be helpful to have a table or desk, or spare chair to stand your device on. There should be at least 1.5 metres between the camera and yourself (more if you’re taller!) to fit yourself in the frame.
4. Please wear form-fitting clothes for your consultation.
Wearing very baggy, thick clothes like oversized hoodies unfortunately won’t work for our video consultation. You don’t have to wear leggings, but something that lets us see you, for example a baggy t-shirt and shorts, or tighter long sleeved attire is perfect.
