An important notice before you continue:
Our vaccine supplier, Movianto, is expecting us to be able to access the new (updated) vaccines imminently. If you’re interested in receiving the vaccine this July ahead of the Fringe and Summer holidays, we strongly advise you to book your slot to avoid disappointment!
Need your Covid booster? Look no further.
That’s right - we’re offering the Covid-19 Vaccine!
Due to the prevalence of viruses such as the flu, Covid-19, RSV and pneumonia, it is recommended that if you want a booster vaccine, you can do so no more frequently than every 6 to 12 months.
Getting a Covid vaccine is no guarantee that you won’t get Covid-19, but it may help your body to fight the infection and reduce its transmissability.

What is the Covid-19 vaccine?
The Covid vaccine we use is by the manufacturer Moderna, and as above, it functions as a booster for people who have previously been vaccinated for Covid. This vaccine is ‘new’, meaning it’s been formulated to reflect the most prominent/dangerous strains of Covid-19 currently present.
The patient information leaflet can be found here. This is guidance published by the manufacturer that details everything about the vaccine, from its ingredients to possible side effects, and who can or cannot have the vaccine.

The Covid-19 vaccine reduces the risk of you contracting Covid, and of you passing it onto other people.
Those who are in close contact with people who are immunocompromised may be recommended to receive the Covid vaccine to protect others.
While we can make recommendations on the basis of extensive research and clinical trials, we’ll never pressure anyone into receiving the vaccine. The ‘need’ for the vaccine must be the decision of the patient.

Yes. Vaccines are never 100% effective for everyone, but having a Covid-19 vaccine does reduce the chance of you catching Covid.
The more people are vaccinated, the lower the risk for both people who are vaccinated but for whom the vaccine is not effective; and for people who are not vaccinated.
-
Yes. You can still catch Covid or a number of other viral illnesses after you’ve had the vaccine.
You can reduce the risk of becoming ill by washing your hands regularly, covering your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, and binning dirty and used tissues.

Many people are eligible for the Covid-19 vaccine through the NHS. We recommend you contact your GP or local health authority for more information.
If you want the vaccine on the NHS, we unfortunately are unable to assist with this as we are a fully private pharmacy, so you will have to speak to your GP.
-
For each visit you need, you’ll have:
A full consultation with the pharmacist, who will assess the suitability of the vaccine for you and be able to answer any questions you may have
The vaccine prescribed by the pharmacist
A patient-information leaflet from the manufacturers of the vaccine
The vaccine administered by the pharmacist
A comprehensive follow-up document which details the specifics of the vaccine(s) for your information, and for you to forward to your GP
