Emergency Prescriptions

Have you run out of medication?
Urgently need antibiotics?
Are you having trouble redeeming an urgent non-UK prescription?
We may be able to help.
Our prescribing pharmacist may be able to write you a new prescription (which is legal in the UK) so you can redeem it for medicines that you need.
What’s included in the Emergency Prescriptions services?
(There are three possible services you can use to obtain an emergency prescription. See our service overview below.)
You’ll have a full consultation with our pharmacist where you’ll discuss the medicine(s) you need, what you’re taking it for and whether it is available in the UK.
If you require a medicine which is regularly prescribed to you, you must be able to present proof of this, either as the original prescription or a photo or copy of the prescription, a letter or email from your doctor, a labeled container for the medicine or other convincing proof.
The pharmacist will then decide whether to write the prescription for you. They will always do their best to ensure you receive medicine you need, but their clinical judgement and decision is final.
Once the prescription is written, it will be entered into our computer system for recordkeeping, and to dispense the medication (if you choose to do that with us.)
For an additional administrative cost of £25, you can choose to have a summary of your visit emailed to you. You might choose to use this for proof of your visit for insurance claims, for your personal records or to update your medical records.
For acute conditions we’ll usually ask you to get in touch after a few days so we can make sure you’re OK. We are also always available for queries about your prescription.

“I had an excellent experience at this pharmacy. I came in with a prescription from abroad, and the staff went above and beyond to help me get everything sorted out smoothly. They were knowledgeable, efficient, and incredibly kind throughout the entire process. The service was truly amazing—professional, friendly, and fast. I highly recommend this pharmacy to anyone looking for exceptional care and support. I will definitely be back, thanks girls.”

There are very strict laws in the UK around what can be considered a ‘legal prescription’.
Pharmacies can accept prescriptions from within the EU or European Economic Area, if you have the original signed prescription which is dated from within the last 6 months, and the pharmacist can understand it and is willing to dispense it.
Some EU countries are able to dispense e-Prescriptions from other countries, however they are not generally accepted in the United Kingdom.
This is why, in some cases, we are able to write a new prescription for the patient. The new prescription is considered legal and can be dispensed in the UK.

While on many days we are able to offer a walk-in service, we prefer it if you are able to book an appointment and let us know exactly what you require. This means we can be prepared for your consultation and ensure we have stock to dispense certain items.
If you don’t see a time that suits you, don’t worry! Give us a call and we’ll fit you in.
